Here goes another D&D character, the companion of one of my previous works, Breena. And yes, he's pretty much dead and decomposed ('tho he likes to dress fancy nobility clothing and prance around streets with bells on his boots). The story goes that when Breena got exiled into the swamps, found the head of this guy and nested in it. I don't really know how he got alive (well, undead) or how she managed to put him together but they are buddies now and she still likes in his head (now that's a woman you can't get out of your mind).
You can see the trap door in the side of Bone's hat through where Breena gets inside her "house". And the glow in his eyes comes from some weird stone she keeps around.

LOL I've never notice this gentleman in your gallery before. He reminds me Morte from Planescape Tourment, but your Bones the Bard seems to be more gallant :)
I like him a lot 'though I don't fully understand the sickle he wears.. I'm sorry for my lack of education, but shouldn't it be a scythe? Maybe he is more modest and cuts off heads just one by one :D

The sickle he wears its both a weapon and a ritual artifact. Mainly used by druids. And the character seems more gallant because he's a bard (and because of the fancy hat). :D

...and perhaps because of his pose and smiling ..emm.. face bones :)
Do you remember why he has the fishing pole? And what he holds in his hand? Some kind of flute or pergamen? :P
lol imagine what happens when a skull/skeleton decides to play the flute

In one hand he has a fork and I honestly don't know what the fork is for. Its some kind of magic one 'tho if I remember well. In the other hand he has a flute made out of one of his forearm bones. He pops it out every time he wants to play (he's a bard after all). Don't ask me how he can blow into a flute with no lungs, its all magic to me. :P
As for the fishing pole, he simply likes to fish. He catches fishes and then let them go. He was sitting for about 100 years in a marsh until the fairy living in his head now found him and resurrected him.

Well, even if he has lungs or magic to create breath, it would probably sound more like organ :D Oh, I really hope my dictionary is correct here ..because of all the other apertures.
Thank you for the explanation. It's always very interesting to hear the story behing yourdrawings :reading: :aww:

Believe it or not I used to write a short story every time I post one of my drawings. It was fun. But back then all the characters I was drawing were mine, so I knew the background story well. Nowadays I draw other people stories. :)
And a bone flute sounds like a flute really: [link] (skip to second 40 for the music).

Oh, really like a real flute, just a bit higher seated than the classic flute :cd:
It's a big pity, the story brings the character into life ..although, you make such details which urges the viewer to think of it, imagine it.. it has a charm of it's own.
Anyway - your clients should write the story.. set it down as your condition :D

As good as it may sound, if I were to read all the stories I wouldn't have time to work. Believe it or not, some clients do send me stories and I do read them because they help me with the image or the character.

Indeed :D I asked that myself but it seems that his mannerism saves the appearance. Being nonchalant and polite he puts people fears aside fast. The fairy in his hat helps :D And he never enters a settlement at night :P
