Hannibal, the elven Avenger by MatesLaurentiu Hannibal, the elven Avenger by MatesLaurentiu
This is done as a charity project for a D&D session organized under the name Mythic Party (you can check for more details here: [link] ) to rise some money at Gencon this summer. Its the first of a series of seven characters (so there are six more to come) with the potential of modifying each character into a zombi in the event they fail some save and succumb to an infection.
This one took me about six or seven straight hours to do but it was fun especially since I had a lot of freedom to express myself.

Hannibal is the Avenger in a party from a custom D&D campaign dedicated on eradicating an undead infestation. The campaign has been amusingly called "28 Turns Later" as a spoof to the movie "28 Days Later" which deals with a similar issue.
He is just one of the six characters I've done for that campaign, most of them specially built to deal with ghouls, zombies, liches, wraiths and such.

It took him 2,5 years to become undead, while Elenuial just half of month.. there must be something about natural devilishness in women :D You've written beautiful story in his new version [link] ..shivers bringing by the darkness, yet still feeling sympathy to the newborn (or rather newdead) character :)

Actually they got transformed about the same time but I didn't post this one here. The post came after a request for this dark version came. Unfortunately my original file of this character has been corrupted and I lost it so this is basically a reconstruction using a jpeg of his living self. As for the story, well, I do think the state of mind in a transition between living and undead is much more complex but I didn't want to write a novel to describe that here. :D

Indeed, you have another novel ahead :D Yet you described the pain and I agree with you, because whole body must be sending many strong impulses during such a change. Actually it must be horrible to feel the body dying till the end of transformation and be conscious.

In some other cases yes, but here Hannibal was very much probable bitten and then killed. And I'm sure you had at least one time a numb leg or arm and then the life and blood rushed back in causing stabbing pain and prickling. I'm sure coming back to life into a body that has been dead for a while is much, much more painful.

Seems you should write whole pre-story how it happened, that Hannibal became dead and undead :giggle: and also the relation with Elenuial brings curiosity into rows of your watchers:P

Remember Evi, this is not my character, is a portrait I did for a d&d campaign. This is just a cover up story I made up from the little information I had about what happened to these characters. I have no intention to write a longer story about him and Elenuial because both have their stories in the campaign. There was no relation between Hannibal and Elenuial, its just a thing I made up to make a faster transition to his undead urges and to link him to another character who seems to get the most faves in my gallery.

Oh I know, I know, but it would be interesting reading anyway :) I sort of imagined they met in the campaign ;)

I'm not sure about that but, as I said, Elenuial's evil twin, the vampire version, got a lot of faves. Its seemed kind of fit to put them two together somehow. :)

I'm glad you enjoy it :) I haven't played an avenger yet but I'm a pretty good role player and all I needed for this one is to read the description of one.
