Making my own miniatures

Description

Well, last year my old gang reunited to play D&D. We played for years without tiles or miniature and even without dices (yup, we just put some numbers in cups and put our fingers in to extract a number) but this time I wanted to make it special. So I started crafting things. And the first things I wanted to make were miniatures for the characters. I didn't had clay around at the time so I just took some hard insulation foam and started sculpting and gluing and used toothpicks and a glass airsoft ball for the wizard, hot glue and some acrylic paints. The pictures show what I managed to make, which, by industry standards are a laughable attempt. They are usable 'tho and I kind of proud of them although I abandoned the project once I finished these three.
The extruded foam paints awfully and I didn't gave it a heat treatment to smooth it out because I was afraid the hot glue keeping it together would melt. The "minis" are light and about as big as a thumb, so they are okay. But in the meantime I bought real minis and some Sculpey because I haven't abandoned the idea of making my own minis. Now I have to find some time.
